The Department of Syriac Studies, affiliated with the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East, was established by a Patriarchal decree, number 1/2015, issued by His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, on January 6, 2015. The DSS follows the scientific and cultural issues that are overseen by the Patriarchate, in particular: the Manuscripts, Patriarchal Library, Scientific conventions and prints, in addition to the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchal Journal.
